Hawkes Learning Systems (HLS) is interactive, multimedia courseware that instructs and tutors students as well as assesses their progress. HLS is often used as an automated homework system. Every section of HLS offers a homework "certification", which is based on a mastery level of learning. HLS offers a multimedia presentation of every section, algorithmically generated practice questions, and intelligent tutoring. Our courseware uses artificial intelligence to anticipate and diagnose errors commonly made by students. HLS can be used as a supplement to your lecture-driven courses as well as a standalone course in distance-learning and self-paced environments.

Our web-based Course Management System (WebCMS) allows you to monitor students' progress in the Hawkes Learning Systems (HLS) courseware. WebCMS is an automated grade book which is set up and maintained on our servers, making it accessible to you and your students from any computer with an internet connection. With WebCMS you can set due dates, assess late penalties and motivate your students by assigning credit to whichever HLS homework "certifications" you choose. Upon completing an assignment, students' results are automatically recorded in your grade book. WebCMS can be used as your primary course grade book, accepting scores from tests, quizzes and other assignments, along with tests and quizzes created using our web-based testing system, WebTest. Valuable time-on-task information and class summary reports that help you keep track of your students' performance are also provided in WebCMS. WebCMS gives you the control to customize all of your courses, whether they are lecture-driven, distance-learning or self-paced.

WebTest is a state-of-the-art testing system that provides you with the tools to create UNIQUE tests, quizzes and homework assignments for your students to take online or on paper. WebTest allows you to select questions from our Hawkes Learning Systems product database or to create your own. Tests can be printed directly from WebTest, exported to word document for editing or published via the internet to your online grade book (WebCMS). To build a test, simply choose the topics you want to include, and WebTest will generate a set of problems for you. These problems can be reordered, randomized, assigned varying point values or replaced with new problems. For tests published online, WebTest automatically grades the students' work and is able to post the scores in your grade book. You decide when tests are available online to students - they can even be password protected! Students benefit from WebTest's practice test feature. By specifying the topics to include and the number of problems desired, students can create tests to take and then review the results to determine their strengths an weaknesses. WebTest is included in the student software and installed in your labs at school.
